Abstract
One of the topics of role-oriented linguistics is the theory of textual coherence. This theory connects the factors that make up the components of the text and cause its coherence and harmony. The model of this theory was presented by Michael Halliday and Roghieh Hassan in (1976). They divided text cohesion factors into three categories. lexical factor, grammatical factor and linking factor. Each of these factors is divided into several categories whose presence in a text makes it coherent and its constituent parts are connected. In this article, using the descriptive-analytical method, the factors of textual coherence in Sabah prayer have been investigated. This research tries to answer these two questions, which are the factors of textual coherence in the sabah prayer? And which of the cohesion factors has a hig frequency?
The tools that create textual coherence in the sabah prayer are divided into three categories: lexical factor, grammatical factor and linking factor. The lexical factor in this prayer includes repetition, semantic inclusion, and conjunction, each of which includes several subcategories. The grammatical factor has been effective in the textual coherence of the prayer in three ways: reference, removal and replacement.
